"Gotta Have" Gadgets
Over the years we have evaluated many fancy add-ons for hi-end audio systems.
Some were very good and some not so good. Does the price of the gadget have any
thing to do with the improvement in your system? Uh, no! Well, here are a few
things that we would not be without and they are inexpensive. When we say that
these RFI filters, outperform the so-called
audiophile products, we do mean so called! We have sold the Electronic
Specialist filters for years on a 15-day audition basis and we have never gotten
one back, not even for warranty work!
Improve
Your Power Line Quality for Audio and Video!
These wonderful, musical power line filters from the
labs at Electronic Specialist are available in many configurations. They allow
your system to soar and achieve a new level of transparency. Don't forget that
these can make quite a bit of audible and viewable improvement in a video system
too! If you want clearer, cleaner and more vivid, yet faithful video try one of
these. We have listed four
of them which are very useful configurations for most audiophiles. If you need a
special configuration, such as two separate filters with one hi-current
outlet/ea for dual-mono amps call us - they'll no doubt make the type.
Electronic Specialists is a company which has directed
it's sales more so toward industrial and commercial customers. That is why you
may think these units are plain looking. You're right they're not
"show-off" pieces, but rest assured that they are hand-built carefully
to the demands of industrial quality.
"I can't tell you just how great and natural these RFI
filters make your system sound. Words don't do justice!" - Excerpt from
a customer's response/warranty card
Electronic Specialist ISO-17, ISO-18,
ISO-21, Kleen
Line Classic
ISO-17: Great things aren't always new things. New is just new.
What's "UpScale", a pretty face and expensive? Fancy
looking is just fancy looking and when it comes to sound "if it ain't got
that swing it don't mean a thing". The ISO-17 is a case in point. We have
used this combination RFI
& EMI filter/Surge Suppressor for years. Occasionally, we take it out
of the system just to remind ourselves of just how great this thing sounds,
actually how great it allows a system to sound. Inevitably, the ISO-17 is placed back into the system immediately. On the other
hand, if you like a brighter, grainier, less transparent sound you could leave
it out.
The Technology: These EMI/RFI filters use quad bi-filar wound coils and
four stage ultra-fast voltage clamping to absolutely clamp dangerous voltage spikes occurring
on your power line. While most RFI filters aim to suppress true very high
frequency RFI interference, these filters are effective over that range and down into the audible range at 10kHz and below. We
believe this makes an audible difference. Speaking of reliability, we have never had to replace a defective
Electronic Specialists filter. Zero trips back to the factory for repairs is nice!!!
The Sound: The ISO-17 treats you to a darker background so that
individual images pop out of what was once a "textured", veiled, noisy
soundstage. There is truer, more natural instrumental timbre and texture. Each instrument
has a more rounded three-dimensional quality. You can more clearly hear sound
reflections from the recording environment enhancing the spooky sense of
wide-open ambience. Getting to the bottom line it just allows your system to pass on more of the "real
thing", the true flavor of the event.
ISO-17 has four hi-current, 1kW/socket rated outlets, a very heavy gauge power cord, plus each socket has
it's dedicated individual filter so you can connect "digital"
and analog components without worry of cross-interference.
ISO-17(shown) - $289.00 - four separate filters and one AC jack for each
filter
ISO-18 - $239.00 - similar appearance, two discrete internal filters and three outlets
for each filter, i.e. it has six outlets
ISO-21: Designed specifically
for superior audio systems the ISO-21 uses the same four-stage filtration
configuration as the ISO-17(above), but utilizing five totally separate filter
systems. It has a different, more "component
look" packaging with rear panel outlet sockets. It includes a short, very
heavy gauge power cord and power LED. It has the same
great sound as the ISO-17 but with even more flexibility.
ISO-21 - $369.00
KLEEN LINE CLASSIC:
This model is a perfect example of a great "bang for the buck"
ratio. This affordable beauty, yeah ok we're talking about the sound here, has a single-filter, six-socket form factor. It is a less expensive
alternative to the ISO series, yet with industrial strength filtering and 10 Amp continuous
rating.
The Sound: The Kleen Line Classic provides a great improvement over
plugging "straight" into the
wall and over many EXPENSIVE, so-called audiophile filters. Expect the
same attributes as the ISO-17 as described above, but the improvement is less
spectacular - still stellar.
Kleen Line Classic has a heavy gauge power cord, longer than the one shown,
six outlets and power LED.
KLEEN LINE
CLASSIC - $99.00
